Not too happy

Today I feel that my blog has been violated. Someone has posted one of my creations on a challenge I did not enter and linked it back to my blog. I find this so frustrating and disrespectful. I use my blog to keep a diary of the work I have done, to enter challenges for some fun, and to meet new people. I am also part of some design teams so that I can network with other crafters and help companies get their images out there for others to see and love too.

If for some reason you were the person who entered my card into another challenge, I ask that you remove it immediately. I also wanted to say Thank-you to Jenn for letting me know this has happened. I appreciate you looking out for me friend.

Cheers,

No Monkeying around

So this next project was inspired by my little monkey. We read stories each day and I always seem to lose the page we are on. However, the dilemma is that my little one likes to pick up her books and eat them/chew on them so an ordinary bookmark wouldn't work. I decided to create a bookmark that is sandwiched between two pieces of acetate. It has a ribbon that she can play with but the rest is protected. I used another one of Jennifer Nilsson's adorable images Mikey the trapeze monkey.
Supplies used:
Doodle Garden Mikey the trapeze monkey image
copic markers
Kaisercraft Animal party paper
Spellbinders pinking circles large
Eyelets

A Helping Hand

A month back a friend of mine rescued a dog, Sam. She found out this week that Sam is going to require knee replacement surgery. Unfortunately, she is a student and cannot afford the $3000.00 it will take to pay for the surgery so we have set up a donation site on facebook and I have offered my crafting services to help support this great cause. I will be selling cards at a local craft fair and all proceeds go straight to helping Sam. I love being able to give back. Here are a few of the cards I have created thus far...a grand total of 100 in one day. It was a marathon!

This past weekend we had the annual "Great Pumpkin" give-away in our community to help get donations for the food bank in exchange for a pumpkin to carve. For me Pumpkins are not just a symbol of Halloween but also of giving thanks. So today's project is a Thank-you card for the volunteers who helped with the give-away this weekend. I have fallen in love with the new paper lines from SEI from the colours to the patterns...I just had to have them. So this next card was inspired by their new Entrada line. Shaker tag

I have started to make my personalized gift tags for family members and friends. My one friend is very trendy and into fashion so I dove into my stash to see what I could find. I had been hording some of my packaging from various dies and found one from my Tim Holtz Sewing room movers and shapers die. It was just the right size for a tag, so I started my creation from there. I added some flowers and bling to finish it off. I know she will love both her gift and this tag. She has kept the past few years of tags to decorate her small Christmas tree so hopefully this one will join the rest.
