Black magic technique

This is my very first blog tutorial. I have always loved learning new and exciting techniques, so I am so thrilled that I can try to pass on what I learned to someone else. I hope you are inspired to test this out yourself.

Materials used:
-Smooth black cardstock
-various other colours of cardstock
-Prisma colour pencil crayons (Any pencil crayon will do)
-White chalk ink pad
-White opaque gel pen
-Ranger's Dylusions stamps
-Jennifer Nilsson's Butterfly ballerina stamp
-EK success Scallop boarder punch
-Copic Markers
-Stardust stickles
-Kaisercraft pearls and rhinestones

Process

Step 1
Using white chalk ink pad and Ranger's Dylusion's stamp, stamp image around three sides of your smooth cardstock. Dry with a heat tool or let it dry for a half hour.

Step 2
Using your coloured pencils, colour in all of the leaves with your favourite colours.

Step 3
Outline the leaves and stems using an opaque white gel pen. This step really makes the leaves pop.

Step 4
Print off two of the Doodle Garden's Butterfly Ballerina stamp and colour with Copic markers to match the leaves of your background. Fussy cut around the images leaving a small white boarder. Add some Stickles to the ballerina tutu and rhinestones to the center of the flowers, butterfly body, and butterfly antenae. Mat an image and the 8 1/2 x 11 background to make a larger scrapbook page or just keep it small. Its all up to you. I also popped up the butterfly ballerina's to make them look like they were hovering over the page. I finished it off with three pearl flowers and a title. My miracle that has been my driving force for all of my creations lately is my 6 month old daughter, Skyla.

Stylin' Gal

I have recently fallen in love with Krista's Saturated Canary digital stamp girls. They have such fun personalities and I love creating using them as a spring board. This one is titled Pink. She screamed style to me so I had to find some bold paper to match her personality. I found some but it was not glamourour enough for me so I jazzed it up a bit using my microfine glitter, glimmer mists and of course some bling. This will make a perfect card for my fashionista of a cousin. I am also entering this card to the Stamping Boutiques Design Team call.

I used the following:
Saturated Canary's Pink image
Copic markers
Black At you Spica pen
Prima flowers
Sunflower tattered Angels glimmer mist
Jesse James Flat back buttons
Kaisercraft black Pearls
My Label maker
Microfine glitter in gunmetal, black, and dark gold
Circle punch to make masks
Ribbon from my stash

Life's a Beach

Join Us in our "Summer Fun Challenge" at The Doodle Garden Blog. The Challenge runs for two weeks so enter your summer fun creations to win great prizes. Our Sponsor this month is Pholkart Blessings. Hope you come and play with the DT this month. Full information on Challenge rules are found on the Doodle Garden Blog.

Here is my creation for this months challenge using Pholkart Blessings' Life's a Beach digital stamp:

I love how paper taring can make the look of the waves of the ocean, sand on the beach, and the rough trunks of the coconut trees. The tops of the trees were made with scrap paper I had in my stash and a circle punch. Add some pearls or buttons for coconuts and you have a great scenic card to give to someone special.

A little birdie told me...

I will soon be heading back to London Ontario for a little family vacation. My parents are anxiously awaiting quality time with their grand-daughter and I am looking forward to visiting with some old friends. One of which is having a birthday. So I thought it only fitting to create this cute little card for her.
